My Iceberg Story: What's Beneath the Surface

This past Thursday marked the beginning of the Health, Wealth, Relationships course—and with it, a powerful moment of reflection. As I prepared for our orientation, I found myself revisiting the story beneath my success: my iceberg (pictured below).
You know, the part of me that’s visible today—my successes, my confidence, my clarity—that’s just the tip. What you don’t see is everything beneath the surface: the refugee boat, the under-the-table tuition, the teenage confusion, the entrepreneurial grind, and all the pain, grit, and belief that got me here.
That’s the whole point of this program.
As I was preparing this course, I found myself reflecting deeply—not just on where I am now, but on how I got here. And what I realized is that none of us truly operate from just our present. We operate from our entire iceberg: our childhood, our culture, our trauma, our parents’ choices, our own reactions, our resilience, our resourcefulness. All of it is underneath, quietly shaping what the world sees.
During orientation, I asked everyone to do this: Tell the story of your iceberg.
What were your earliest beginnings?
What happened in your “quarter life crisis”?
When was your turning point—your epiphany?
Are you writing a new chapter right now… or an entirely new book?
Because whether or not you've realized it yet, you're carrying a lot of wisdom. Most of us just haven’t taken the time to piece it all together.
We can’t build wealth or health or strong relationships without a solid foundation. And the foundation is this: understanding and honoring the experiences that have made you. Filling in the gaps. Building trust with yourself. Doing the small, consistent work that strengthens your nervous system, your mindset, and your voice.
So for this week's seed activity, I invite you to do the iceberg exercise for yourself. Start at the bottom: your early stages. Then trace upward through your turning points, your lessons, your beliefs. Reflect on what’s gotten you here—and where you're headed next.
You might find that the very things that felt like setbacks were actually your foundations.
Write it out. Journal it. Let it out of your body and into form.
Because what you’ve lived through is not just your past—it’s your power. It’s not too late to join the course and gain access to all upcoming Q&A calls, video lessons, and powerful weekly reflections.
I want to hear your iceberg story—the entirety of it.
