Transforming Affirmations for Real Empowerment

A few weeks ago, I attended a family constellation coaching workshop with Michelle Blechner, and it was an amazing experience that I highly recommend. You might be wondering, "What is a constellation workshop?" It's a group process designed to uncover hidden family dynamics that could be affecting your life. Michelle Blechner is one of the best in this field and is highly respected by Tony Robbins.
While the workshop offered valuable insights into family systems, the biggest takeaway for me came at the end when Michelle shared her thoughts on empowerment. In the world of manifestation, you’ve probably heard phrases like “I am powerful,” “I am rich,” or “I am healthy.” The idea is to teach your mind and body that these things already exist for you, helping you live in a state of abundance instead of lack.
But for many, saying “I am” can feel unnatural, almost like they’re lying to themselves. Michelle suggested a simple yet profound shift: replace “I am” with “I choose.” For example, say “I choose to be happy,” “I choose to be healthy,” or “I choose to be active.”
This change was a game-changer for me. Saying “I choose” feels authentic and empowering. It creates an immediate shift in my mindset, energy, and sense of strength. It reminds me that I have control over my actions and decisions.
My seed questions for this week are:
What affirmations can you create using the phrase “I choose”? Try repeating them daily. How does this shift in language make you feel?
